Sales records continue for Edson

NEW BEDFORD, Mass – Marine products manufacturer Edson International has had two consecutive months of record-setting sales, and has set records in average order value and numbers of orders as well, Edson said in a release yesterday.

The company set an all-time sales record for April, only to eclipse that mark in May, which was the highest sales month in Edson’s 145-year history. Edson’s May sales were 21-percent higher than in May 2003, and there was also an 11-percent increase in order value and a 9-percent increase in numbers of orders over the same period the year before, the company said.

“We’re seeing very strong marine aftermarket sales and very strong marine OEM business, helped by several new OEM accounts,” said Will Keene, Edson’s president. “All divisions are performing spectacularly – Pump-Out, Industrial, Military and Edson/Anbar Foundry are all up. And Edson’s recent Quality Welding, Inc. acquisition is fully integrated into the facility and is now producing and delivering the highest quality fabricated stainless and aluminum marine products.”

Edson management also foresees a positive sales outlook for summer 2004 and is increasing current production and inventory levels to meet the demands of the market, according to the company.

Edson International manufactures marine steering systems and accessories, boat davits, radar towers and marine pumps for sail and powerboats.
