Mobile Tour extends reach in 2004
CHICAGO – The Discover Boating and Fishing Tour presented by Water Works Wonders has traveled to four events so far this year, and has seen a marked increase in consumer participation compared to last year’s event, the National Marine Manufacturers Association said in a recent release.
“It’s a great marketing tool that helped us sell a lot of boats,” said Irwin Marine President Chan Irwin, who provided various boats for the Boat Walk at the Cruisin’ River Festival in Red Bank, N.J. “The Tour is a great stepping stone. This is what the industry needs.”
NMMA said that over the weekend at Riverfest in Little Rock, Ark. more than 2,100 people submitted entry forms to participate in a boat giveaway that will be presented at the end of the Tour in November. The Tour has also gathered more than 5,000 forms this year, compared to roughly 10,000 for all of 2003, according to NMMA.
This coming weekend, the Tour heads to Memphis, Tenn. for Ducks Unlimited, according to NMMA.
