Marina World to host second-annual seminar at METS

AMSTERDAM – Marina World magazine will host its second one-day industry seminar aimed exclusively at marina operators, developers and equipment providers, during the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) 2004, according to a show press release today.

The program, which will take place Nov. 17, will focus on areas that are key to successful marina management and will reflect current industry trends, according to the show’s producers.

Topics covered will include:

  • Balancing economics – the marina as a profit center and a leisure center; financing; insurance.
  • Bigger berths for bigger boats – designing superyacht facilities and/or incorporating superyacht facilities within existing marinas; security issues; what does the customer want?
  • Environmental issues – pump-out; preventing oil spills throughout the marina site; meeting regulations.
  • Drystack storage, the landside option – economics, design and feasibility; what the manufacturer can offer; what the operator thinks.
