CABO Yachts awarded an “Export Achievement Certificate”
ADELANTO, Calif. – Sportfishing yacht manufacturer CABO Yachts, Inc. was presented with the “Export Achievement Award” Friday by Dan Bloom, director of the Advocacy Center at the U.S. Department of Commerce, the company said in a press release today.
The award recognizes U.S. companies that have successfully entered the international marketplace or a new market for the first time. Cabo Yachts recently signed a distributorship agreement and made its first sale to South Africa as a direct result of assistance provided by Commerce’s Inland Empire U.S. Export Assistance Center and Commercial Service post in Cape Town, South Africa, the company said.
CABO Yachts also benefited from local Commercial Service assistance to make sales in Greece, Japan, Mexico, Costa Rica, Italy and the Dominican Republic. Exports now represent about 12 percent of the firm’s total sales. The firm employs 450 craftsmen and is Adelanto’s largest employer, according to the company.
“Small and medium-sized companies like Cabo Yachts comprise almost 97 percent of U.S. exporters and represent some of the best that America has to offer in the global marketplace,” Bloom said. “I congratulate Cabo Yachts for their commitment to exporting.”
CABO Yachts exports $6 to $8 million worth of luxury sportfishing yachts annually to twelve countries, including Japan, Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, Kenya, Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic and Costa Rica, the company said.
