Simrad streamlines its operations
LYNNWOOD, Wash. – Marine electronics manufacturer Simrad Inc. is centralizing its national service functions out of the company’s Lynnwood, Wash. headquarters, according to a recent company press release.
As part of this change, Simrad, Inc.’s Dania, Fla. office will no longer be providing local repair services, but it will continue to be staffed and operate in a new role as East Coast Sales Office and Training Center.
Simrad President Brian Staton said the company would soon announce additional technical staff that will be available for field service in support of Simrad dealers.
“These moves come in direct response to many dealers from around the country that we simplify our service,” Staton said. “By centralizing our service in a single location, we’re confident we can simplify matters for our dealers and provide better, quicker service for our customers.”
The changes at the Dania facility also involved the departure of Simrad’s vice president of Marketing/Product Development, John Caballero, who the company said left to pursue personal interests.
Staton said that new freight policies and other arrangements aimed at reducing costs of handling warranty service through the West Coast headquarters will soon be announced to the dealer network.
