TowBoatU.S. opens Alabama location
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – TowBoatU.S., has opened a location at Goose Pond Marina in Scottsboro, Ala. on Lake Guntersville, owned and operated by Jim R. Helms, Sr., TowBoatU.S. reported in a press release today.
Helms has also operated Precision Towing & Recovery in the Scottsboro area – a family owned business – for over three decades. TowBoatU.S. Scottsboro is the third TowBoatU.S. port in the state, according to the release.
“Fluctuating Tennessee River water levels can be a problem for boaters,” said Helms. “Some areas have stumps, and sandbars can occasionally ground a boat or damage the running gear. If it’s a light grounding, we can usually get folks on their way. But we can respond to about any type of assistance needed.”
Boaters in need of towing assistance can reach TowBoatU.S. Scottsboro 24-hours a day, seven days a week by VHF radio on channel 16; by calling the company directly at 256-259-5814; or through the BoatU.S. toll-free Dispatch Service at 800-391-4869, the company said.
