Orders at Newport Boat Show top $60 million

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – More than $60 million in orders were taken by dealers who attended the Newport Boat Show, held April 14-18 at Lido Marine Village, according to a recent release from show organizers.

“That number represents a snapshot in time and should increase in the weeks to come, from the many contacts dealers and builders made at this year’s show,” said show producer Duncan McIntosh.

Many dealers reported a big jump in retail business this year, according to the release.

“It really helped us to be in a show that focused on big yachts,” said Chuck Hovey of Chuck Hovey Yachts in Newport Beach and Seattle, who has participated in every Newport Boat Show throughout the event’s 31-year history.
