NMMA launches tools to prepare exhibitors for MAATS

CHICAGO – A new video and Preparedness Kit have been developed by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) to help ready exhibitors for the Marine Aftermarket Accessories Trade Show (MAATS), the association reported in a statement today.

The format of the show, being held July 8-11, 2004, at the Las Vegas Hilton, is relatively new to the marine industry, and the Preparedness Kit and video teach exhibitors how to get the most out of their participation in the show, NMMA stated.

The video features a presentation from a major retailer and exhibitor representative, who provide detailed guidelines on how exhibitors can have more successful meetings with potential or existing customers.

The MAATS Exhibitor Preparedness Kit offers guidelines for developing a plan for MAATS, including preparation for meetings and creating an effective presentation of product in exhibit booths, according to NMMA. The kit also includes information specific to international exhibitors, tips for getting to know the buying audience, opportunities for promoting new products and instructions for using the MAATS Web site.

“We are encouraging all exhibitors to take the time to go through this information with their sales teams that will be attending MAATS,” said MAATS project manager Kathleen Clickett. “This is a new approach to helping our exhibitors prepare for this unique event, and we hope they will take advantage of these resources.”

All MAATS exhibitors have been mailed copies of the kits and videos.

Introduced in 2001, MAATS provides its exhibitors opportunities to promote their products directly to marine aftermarket buyers. In the New Product Previews, exhibitors introduce their new products to a group of more than 120 invited buyers. Pre-arranged buyer-supplier meetings give exhibitors the opportunity to meet with buyers in a private setting away from the exhibit floor, and from their competition.
