Boating Writers International elects Hendricks to board

WILMETTE, Ill. – Boating Writers International (BWI) members voted in late March to elect Jim Hendricks to the association’s board of directors, where he will serve a three-year term through 2006, BWI reported in a statement yesterday.

Hendricks will replace freelance writer Louisa Rudeen, who chose to step down at the end of her term. BWI active and associate members cast ballots in the election, which was conducted entirely by electronic means, BWI said.

Hendricks, an associate publisher of the Ehlert Boating Group, which includes Trailer Boats, Bass & Walleye Boats and WaterCraft World, has been a member of BWI since 1998, and received the 2003 Monk Farnham Award for excellence in editorial commentary earlier this year.
