Fishing festival to celebrate second year
ORLANDO, Fla. – The 2004 edition of FishStock, a fishing festival presented by Sport Fishing magazine, will be held May 28-30 at New Smyrna Beach on Florida’s Atlantic coast and Aug. 13-15 at Panama City Beach on Florida’s Gulf, according to a press release from the magazine today.
The FishStock Village will host youth fishing seminars, boat shows, saltwater fishing clinics and other exhibits. While on the water, anglers can tackle inshore and offshore fishing tournaments, the magazine reported.
The New Smyrna stop expands on the Memorial Day Striker Tournament, now in its 28th year, and Mercury Marine has created the Redfish Trout Challenge, an inshore tournament, for both locations. Live weigh-ins from the tournaments will also take place, according to the magazine.
Major sponsors of FishStock include Mercury, Boston Whaler, Cobia, Century and Evinrude.
