Renaissance Marine Group’s 2004 sales up 24 percent

CLARKSTON, Wash. – Renaissance Marine Group Inc.’s (RMG) sales for the first two months of 2004 are 24 percent higher than for the same period in 2003, the company said in a statement yesterday.

News of these increases comes on the heels of a strong showing in 2003 for RMG, when the company posted sales gains of 29 percent, RMG reported.

“Retail sales of our two brands [Duckworth and Weldcraft] are off to a strong start this spring with sales in January and February surpassing the same period last year by more than 24 percent,” RMG President James E. Moore said. “Dealers report excellent activity at the boat shows so far this year with new models like the Duckworth Navigator producing strong retail sales. We are seeing increased dealer orders and order backlogs as the show season progresses.

Moore added, that with interest rates holding at record lows and the economy improving, the company expects record growth to continue during the remainder of 2004.

“Our hiring and training programs instituted during the winter months are allowing us to meet the increased demand on a timely basis,” he explained. “We continue to plan for strong growth within our segment of the industry and are actively hiring additional production personnel.”

RMD dealers are located in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Alaska, Minnesota, and Colorado.
