Electronics manufacturer joins SKA as corporate partner
LYNNWOOD, Wash. – Marine electronics manufacturer Simrad has joined the Southern Kingfish Association (SKA) as a corporate partner and will sponsor the SKA Mercury Tournament Trail, Simrad said in a press release yesterday.
“The avid offshore angler has always been a core market for our navigation, fishfinding, communications and auto-steering systems,” said John Caballero, vice president of marketing and product development for Simrad. “This is exactly the type of angler the SKA serves and appeals to, which is why we know great things will come out of this relationship.”
Dedicated to the pursuit of king mackerel, SKA is the nation’s largest offshore tournament trail, according to the company. The SKA Mercury Tournament Trail features 11 geographic divisions with three to five events per division. Anglers earn points to qualify for the SKA National Championships, where top pros compete for more than $450,000 in cash and prizes.
