Organizers preparing for 2004 NY/NJ boat show

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The NY/NJ International Boat Show is firmly on track with plans for its 2004 event, organizers said in a press release today.

The show’s sales staff is reporting a 65-percent exhibitor renewal rate and many requests for additional in-water space for the event, scheduled to be held Sept. 30 through Oct. 3 at Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City.

The cancellation of Sail America’s NY/NJ Sail Expo has had no effect on the NY/NJ International Boat Show powerboat event, now in its third year, according to organizers.

“We’ve moved our 2004 dates up into a more favorable position, are reconfiguring our dock space for better traffic flow, have already secured Budweiser as a returning major sponsor, and are focusing a significant part of our marketing efforts into further increasing attendance,” said Ken Tesler, Liberty Marine Marketing Group’s executive producer.

A 12,000 people attended last year’s show, the marketing firm said.
