Flagship Marinas hands out yearly awards

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The recipients of Flagship Marinas’ annual awards were given their prizes recently by company president Gregg Kenny, CMM of Flagship Marinas – a Dallas, Texas marina ownership and management services business – at the yearly managers meeting held in Ft. Lauderdale.

In presenting the distinctions, Kenney said, “All of our properties have continued to produce at high levels even through tough economic times and various other challenges. Although this years recipients stood out over the course of the past year, we are very proud of the entire Flagship portfolio.”

Aqua Yacht Harbor, located on Lake Pickwick in Iuka, Miss, took home two major awards, including “Marina of the Year.” Rodney VanHoose, the general manager at Aqua Yacht Harbor, credited “The entire team effort from everyone on our staff” for the recognition. Aqua Yacht Harbor service manager Tommy Snyder was awarded the “Employee of the Year.”

Other individual honorees included Joel Vickery of Emerald Point Marina in Austin, Texas as “Marina Manager of the Year,” and Allison Harpold (Walden Marina, Montgomery Texas) and Stacy Brumley (Jamestown Resort & Marina, Jamestown, Ky.) who each won “Customer Service Excellence” awards.

Tammy Wright, marina manager of Lake Murray Marina, which is a management contract facility under the Flagship banner in Columbia, S.C. and Clark Goebel of Marina Bay on Boston Harbor, both won “Most Improved Marina” awards.

The evening was capped off with the awarding of a special “Presidents Award” to Flagship Marina’s corporate controller, Jo Ann Ellis. Kirby Cay Scheimann, CMM, the Southeast regional manager also was presented the same distinction.
