December’s Bellwether Report says sales up slightly
MIAMI, Fla. – The December 2003 Bellwether Report, released Monday by Info-Link, says that sales of powerboats over 15 feet in length finished the year up slightly, while growth in calendar 2003 vs. 2002 was approximately one percent in the “bellwether” states.
“Some segments of the boating market performed better than others” Jesse Wells, Info-Link’s director of sales & marketing, said. “Outboard fiberglass boats, for example, showed the most encouraging growth.”
The updated trend lines for the various segments can be seen at Info-Link’s Web site.
“Bellwether” states are the major boating states that make up roughly half of the U.S. market, and thus are highly indicative of what happened in the country overall, according to Info-Link.
