Boats.com experiences record traffic in January

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Marketing services company boats.com, Inc., www.boats.com and www.yachtworld.com, said yesterday that it had over 52 million page views in January, with visitors searching over 95,000 boat listings. That beat the Web site’s previous record for traffic, set in July 2003, while sales leads sent to OEM’s, brokers and dealers in this same month exceed previous levels on a global basis.

“These numbers confirm an underlying positive trend for our industry,” said Paul Rabe, president, CEO and co-founder of boats.com, Inc. “Beating our peak season July numbers in January means that potential buyers are out there now and looking. Our traffic trends to our sites are so positive that we have invested in new servers to handle this increased load, plus the new traffic we envision being generated by the new products we will unveil in the coming months.”

The Web site says it has installed three new custom servers together with an upgraded database server.

“Our proprietary architecture provides us with the advantage of a scaleable infrastructure,” boats.com, Inc. CTO Jorge Bracer said. “This allows us to add equipment, economically, as and when needed to handle traffic and listings growth across all areas of our business.”

With more than 95,000 new and used boat listings from over 5,500 brokers and dealers, boats.com, Inc. says it is the largest concentration of recreational marine industry marketing in the world. It provides marketing services to OEM’s, dealers, brokers and service companies throughout the global recreational marine industry.
