Savannah International Boat Show expands
SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah International Boat Show has sold out its convention center space, as well as display space in front of the center, and is looking at expansion options after only one year, reported JBM & Associates, producers of the show, in a press release Friday.
The show is scheduled to be held March 5-7 at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center on the Savannah River.
“The success of last year’s initial show was overwhelming, we sold out of major convention center display space seven months in advance for this year’s show,” said the show’s producer, Jacqui McGuinness. “All booth space has been sold. We have boat displays all along the river and now are considering tenting on the side of the building to accommodate our growing waiting list.”
In addition to land and convention center displays, the producers are renting additional docks and having them brought in to meet the demand of the in-water exhibitors.
“We have a handful of slips left and expect to be completely sold out within the next week,” McGuinness said. “We will have to work with the center’s management and Chatham County officials on an expansion plan for the future.”
The Savannah show, presented by Mercury Marine, will feature powerboats, sailboats and yachts up to 60 ft., along with nautical products and services. Bass Pro Shops is hosting a children’s fishing clinic and there will be 18 fishing seminars held throughout the event.
