Croatia will host June’s ICOMIA-IFBSO Congress

GURNEE, Ill. – The 2004 ICOMIA – IFBSO Congress will be held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, June 2-6, and will be hosted by the Croatia Boating Industry Association, International Council of Marine Industry Associations secretary general in the United Kingdom, Tony Rice, said in a press release.

ICOMIA and the International Federation of Boat Show Organizers, conduct a joint
meeting annually to coordinate programs between cooperating marine-oriented countries worldwide. In addition to the committee meetings planned by the two groups, post-Congress trips to Zagreb, the national parks and Adriatic Islands are planned for the delegates.

The Congress will headquarter at the seaside Hotel Excelsior, a short distance from the historic medieval city center of Dubrovnik, a cultural treasure trove.

Since the end of the hostilities in mid-Europe several years ago, Croatia, with its Adriatic shoreline dotted with 1,200 islands, has steadily been improving its marine facilities to attract increasing numbers of boaters residing throughout Europe.
