Dubuque Yacht Basin sold
DUBUQUE, Iowa – American Marine owner Dave Pretasky has purchased the Dubuque Yacht Basin from long-time owners Don and Helen Shanley, according to a statement Wednesday.
The Shanleys, who have retired, owned and developed the 15-acre facility over the past 34 years, and Pretasky, whose company is based in LaCrosse, Wis., plans to continue that development. Pretasky retained the entire staff and would like to build the basin into the “Crown Jewel” on the Mississippi.
Near-term plans include a general facelift, new transient docks and a floating showroom.
