Skeeter Boats unveils redesigned Web site

KILGORE, Texas – Skeeter Boats has launched a completely redesigned and upgraded Web site that enables anglers to build their dream boat on screen complete with options and colors, plus a 360-degree rotating boat, the company reported in a statement yesterday. The Web site address is www.skeeterboats.com.

This new site includes a Skeeter Product Host, Fish Fishburne, who gives a description and walk-through of the different models. Fishburne is best known for his entertaining and knowledgeable style hosting the weigh-in at the CITGO Bassmaster Classic and the CITGO Bassmaster Tournament Trail, according to Skeeter.

“As with all things Skeeter, the boat is the hero and it’s the centerpiece of the Web site,” said Jeff Stone, general manager of Skeeter. “We wanted a Web site that was just as high-tech as our boats and we wanted it to be a home for Skeeter owners to enjoy.

“We recognize cutting-edge technology and attention to detail are the key ingredients for securing value for long term owner satisfaction,” said Darrin Bryan, Skeeter’s marketing director. “We will be adding several modules after the initial launch such as the Build My Skeeter, Skeeter Buzz Newsletter, Fishing Tips from our elite pro staff, a dealer module, and a newsroom for the media to get the latest product and pro information.”

Bryan said the company’s biggest challenge was to create the “Build My Skeeter” module, which features over 6,900 combinations with the entire product line.

“It features every boat we offer, optional colors the viewer can change with just a click of the mouse and all the options any angler would ever need or want,” he explained. “Plus, adding Fish to the live action with his enthusiasm and humor is going to be something visitors will enjoy. He’s exciting, but he’s a serious angler and knows what he’s talking about as he moves the viewer through the different parts of the boats.”

Skeeter also added a dealer locator that links to Yahoo Maps so the visitor can get directions on visiting the dealership.

The new Web site is the first in a wave of marketing and information materials that will soon reach consumers with news of the Skeeter line, using an upgraded catalog, in-store promotional materials, and advertising and public relations activities with the fishing and boating media, the company reported.
