SOBA schedules 18th Annual Conference
WARREN, R.I. – The States Organization for Boating Access (SOBA) has scheduled its 18th Annual conference, Boating Under the Big Sky, Listing our Accomplishments and Identifying our Needs, in Kalispell, Mont. on Sept. 18-22, it reported in a recent statement.
SOBA said it is especially appreciative of this year’s sponsor, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, as it sponsored the 2001 conference, which was cancelled due to 9/11.
In addition to the knowledge imparted at the conference through a variety of speakers, workshops and field trips will be held. The opening reception will be held at Lone Pine State Park, and a pre-conference workshop will cover grant writing. Field trips include a bus tour of state boating facilities around Flathead Lake, a spouse/guest outing “Whitefish tour/lunch and hiking at Big Mountain Resort” and a dinner cruise on Flathead Lake, according to SOBA. After the conference, participation in a day-trip to Glacier National Park and Waterton Lakes National Park (Canada) is recommended.
The conference will be held at the WestCoast Kalispell Center Hotel. Rooms have already been blocked off, and conference participants are encouraged to make reservations. For more information about the hotel, or to make reservations, visit its Web site, www.redlion.com, or call the hotel at (800) 325-4000.
