Rampage plans to start second shift

NAVASSA, N.C. – Rampage Sport Fishing Yachts is seeing an increase in demand in some markets, and therefore is considering adding a second shift in mid-February, according to an article today in the Star-News.

Adding a second shift would require the boat builder to hire an additional 30 to 60 workers over a period of five months at an average pay of about $500 per week, the newspaper reported. Most of the new employees would be allocated to the company’s lamination division.

“There just seems to be a big increase in demand in certain parts of the markets,” Rampage General Manager Pete Gillon told the newspaper.

The company sold about 100 boats last year and is worth about $10 million, the newspaper reported.
