IBEX U Rockport to offer all-new seminars

BROOKLIN, Maine – IBEX U is presenting a new conference program to regional boat building professionals in the northeastern United States with the show’s return to Maine in 2004, organizers reported in a statement today.

IBEX U 2004 is scheduled for February 25–26 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine.

The seminar topics for IBEX U 2004: Rockport were chosen based on the requests of Maine-region builders, according to organizers.

Some of the unique seminars include “The Spirit of Tradition,” a seminar for designers and engineers that will focus on combining traditional aesthetics with modern boat building products and processes; learn how a traditional Maine workboat became a popular daycruiser in a Wednesday session, “The Evolution of the Lobster Boat to Picnic Boat”; and in a seminar on methods and materials for boat builders, tips and techniques on transitioning to epoxy in boat building will be detailed.

“The staff of Professional BoatBuilder magazine has developed one of the most concentrated seminar programs in the history of IBEX U,” said Carl Cramer, IBEX U show director. “At IBEX U 2002 in Portland, we listened carefully to northeastern boat building professionals explain their needs, so now we are returning to provide them with the superior education they demanded.”

In addition to the conference program, IBEX U 2004: Rockport will be host to more than 70 OEMs, manufacturers, and suppliers of boat building products and processes.

IBEX U is owned and produced by Professional BoatBuilder magazine. Complete seminar descriptions and up-to-date exhibition information is currently available at the show’s new Web site, www.ibexu.com.
