iboats.com recognized as Emerging Elite company
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — iboats.com, a dealer-supportive network of boating-related Web sites, was recognized as an “Emerging Elite” company by MountainWest Venture Group at an awards luncheon with more than 1,000 attendees held recently at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, the company reported in a statement Friday.
Created in 1995, the MountainWest Venture Group identifies and recognizes the top 100 Utah-based companies who have grown the fastest in revenues over the last five years, according to the company. The winner this year, overstock.com, grew at 10,000 percent over the last five years.
A new category of 15 “Emerging Elite” companies who have “outstanding accomplishments and future potential,” as defined by MountainWest, was created this year. Awards were given to Utah-based companies with four consecutive years of revenue growth and a minimum revenue of $50,000 in 1999, the company stated.
Utah’s Governor Olene S. Walker presented the award to Gordon Peterson Jr., CFO of iboats.com. Due to iboats’ revenue growth rate of over 12,000 percent over the last four years, iboats.com was selected to receive the “Emerging Elite” award among thousands of applicants solicited throughout the state, the company reported.
