Shoremaster breaks new ground
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. — ShoreMaster, Inc., a waterfront equipment manufacturer, broke ground October 31 for a new manufacturing plant and office complex in the Fergus Falls Industrial Park, the company reported yesterday.
ShoreMaster employees gathered with city and state officials, Otter Tail Corp. executives and community members to commemorate the event. Fergus Falls Mayor Russell Anderson called the groundbreaking a “banner day” for the city and thanked ShoreMaster for “bringing meaningful employment opportunities to Fergus Falls,” according to the company.
The 82,000 square-foot manufacturing facility, expected to be completed in summer 2004, will allow for an additional 27,500 square feet of future expansion, the company stated.
In addition, a 10,000-square-foot administrative office building will sit adjacent to the new plant, further developing the Fergus Falls headquarters for ShoreMaster, Inc., which currently includes a plastics rotomolding plant, an aluminum fabrication facility and concrete products plant, said the company.
“ShoreMaster’s new facilities will allow us to maintain our current growth manufacturing a full range of waterfront equipment,” said ShoreMaster President Erik Ahlgren.
