Volvo Penta electronic parts catalogs in FicheMaster system

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — The electronic parts information for Volvo Penta marine engines are now available for the DockMaster Software System, Exuma Technologies, Inc., a provider of marine management systems announced at the IBEX Conference today.

The images are incorporated into FicheMaster, a module in the DockMaster Software System for searching, viewing and inventory look-up of part numbers, images and related information, the company added.

“We are very excited about the inclusion of Volvo Penta’s electronic parts catalog in our FicheMaster product,” said Cam Collins, president and CEO of Exuma Technologies, Inc. “We have strong customer demand for Volvo’s products and the ability to not only view parts, but also check stock levels, price and bin location completes our solution.”

FicheMaster allows users to view vendor electronic parts catalogs on screen and access information from the database about parts on the images displayed. FicheMaster integrates with the DockMaster, Inventory Control, Service Department, Special Orders, Order Entry and Point-of-Sale modules, according to the company.

Images can be viewed while in a work order, purchase order, special order, point-of-sale transaction or inventory maintenance and inquiry. Part numbers on the image can then be selected and placed on the open transaction. While in any of the entry programs mentioned above, the user may type in a part number and access the image or images where the part is displayed, reported the company.

In addition, the user has several options to customize the viewing size and format of the images. The parts information window includes part number, description, quantity-on-hand, price, and bin location for all parts on the image, stated the company.

“Developing a relationship with Exuma made sense because a number of our dealers are DockMaster customers,” said Ken Shandelson, director of partner network and technical literature at Volvo Penta. “Exuma has incorporated our entire stern-drive and inboard, diesel and gasoline lines in their electronic parts catalog making it easier to order parts on Volvo Penta’s partner network.”

DockMaster is a complete management information solution for marinas, boatyards, boat dealers, boat builders and marine retailers/distributors. The product consists of a series of online integrated software modules that address specific functions within a marine-related business.
