BOSTON – SAIL magazine recently announced its list of nominees for the best sailboats of 2012. The judges for this year’s list of nominees will conduct their evaluation around the Newport International boat Show, Sept. 15-19, and at the U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Oct. 6-10.
This year’s judges include SAIL editor-in-chief Peter Nielsen, senior editor Adam Cort, executive editor Charles Doane, editor-at-large David Schmidt, systems guru Nigel Calder, and contributing editor Tom Dove.
The 2012 Best Boats list includes just over 40 new boats of all types, and are separated into five categories; Small Boats, Cruising Monohulls, Cruising Multihulls, Performance Boats, and Flagships.
There are additional awards for excellence in Systems, Deck and Cockpit Plan, and Accommodations.
