ADP Lightspeed, Boating Industry partner on dealer performance reports
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — ADP Lightspeed and Boating Industry magazine announced a partnership to publish a monthly report showing dealer revenue performance. Using data collected from dealers across the industry, ADP Lightspeed will compile revenue figures across the U.S.. Once the data is compiled, Boating Industry will publish the study in its print and online publications for the industry to review.
The report, known as the Same Store Sales report, follows standard retail reporting practice of comparing monthly sales in the current year with sales in the previous year. Additional detail for the marine market is provided by reporting sales for the Parts, Service and Sales departments separately in each of the two years. Change will be reported on a percentage basis for the aggregate of all dealers. In addition, the count of stores up or down will be reported.
“Our expertise in providing business intelligence from sources across the industry makes this partnership a perfect fit for Boating Industry,” said Liz Walz, editor-in-chief of Boating Industry. “Our readers can get an initial glimpse of this information in our annual Market Data Book, published in August, and dealers will then be able to compare their business to this Same Store Sales data on a monthly basis after that.”

Often this leaves dealers to make decisions based solely on their own stores’ performance. This agreement with Boating Industry provides the dealer with factual comparisons across the country and will be a true bellwether for the industry.”
ADP Lightspeed currently provides a similar report to Powersports Business magazine (a sister publication of Boating Industry), which shows the performance of nearly 1,000 motorcycle, ATV and snowmobile dealers from across the country.
