Teleflex hosts first sales meeting since ownership change

LITCHFIELD, Ill. – Sales representatives recently joined Teleflex Marine in St. Louis, Mo., for the company’s first sales meeting since changing ownership in March.

The meeting served as a forum for product education, sales training and team building. During two days of seminars, Teleflex product managers introduced new products and updated sales strategies designed to meet the needs of a changing marine marketplace. In addition to product- and market-oriented information, Teleflex Marine introduced its field staff to Salesforce.com. The cloud-based CRM program will help coordinate and manage the flow of information between Teleflex and its reps, as well as dealers, distributors and boat builders.

Teleflex brought attendees up to speed regarding their online dealer network, and especially the Onboard Rewards program. Everyone at the meeting participated in a special “sales meeting” version of the Onboard Rewards program. Attendees accrued points for participating in various seminars and other activities, and like Teleflex Marine dealers, were able to redeem those points at the end of the meeting for a variety of premium merchandise. Michael Douglass, from SGL Sales and Marketing, was the top points earner.

“We were shown new products, marketing direction and sales plans, as well as Teleflex’s new Onboard Rewards dealer incentive program. It’s impressive to see how many dealers have already signed up and are earning points for products they purchase,” said Charles Perry of the Charles A. Perry Group. “We were all able to earn points as well, from contests and tests on product knowledge.”
