Magellan partners with Navionics for GPS marine charts
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Magellan GPS will work with cartography company Navionics to provide advanced lake and marine charts on the new Magellan eXplorist handheld devices.
New software on the Magellan eXplorist 510, 610, and 710 GPS devices are now compatible with digital versions of Navionics Gold marine charts, HotMaps Premium lake maps, and Fish’N Chip bathymetric fishing maps.
Those who already own the eXplorist 510, 610, or 710 can upgrade to the new software.
Navionics Gold marine charts features such information as tides, currents, wrecks, port plans, marsh areas, marine services and coastal roads. HotMaps Premium lake maps cover more than 17,000 lakes in North America and include detailed fishing information. Fish’N Chip offers high-resolution fishing bathymetry.
