ValvTect Certified Marinas will not carry E15 fuel

NORTHBROOK, Ill. – While the EPA’s recent decision on E15 fuel means it will be available at land-based gas stations, it will not be sold at the gasoline fuel pumps at ValvTect Certified Marinas, according to a release from ValvTect.

On Oct. 13, the Environmental Protection Agency approved the sale and use of E15 for all 2007 and later automobiles and light duty trucks. The EPA’s approval did not include the use of E15 in marine engines.

“Although E15 is not approved for use in marine engines at this time, it is possible it may work its way into the marine industry. To be certain there is no misunderstanding, the sale of E15 will be strictly prohibited at all Certified ValvTect Marinas at this time,” Jerry Nessenson, president of ValvTect Petroleum, said in the release. “Violation of this policy will result in the marina being decertified as a Certified ValvTect Marina.”
