Peters & May Ltd. acquires Complete Freight
SOUTHAMPTON, U.K. – Marine logistics provider Peters & May Ltd. has acquired U.K.-based performance yacht and motorboat logistics provider Complete Freight, the company reported in a recent statement.
The company and its directors, Angus Bruce Jones and Simon Judson, together with their staff will become wholly absorbed into the Peters & May global operation, the company explained. They will be based at the U.K. headquarters in Southampton.
“The acquisition of Complete Freight is a strategic move for us and forms part of our ongoing business development,” said Peters & May Managing Director Jan Rydgren-
Knudsen. “As a major operator in the marine logistics industry, we seek to identify sectors and territories that offer market opportunities and target them by internal expansion or tactical acquisition. Complete Freight’s extensive presence in the international yacht racing circuit and the abilities of Angus and Simon to have grown a successful company with high profile clients was key to their appeal to us.”
Founded in 2004 by Angus and Simon, Complete Freight has become one of the acknowledged leaders in marine logistics for international race events, individual yacht race campaigns and team supplies and spares, Peters & May reported. The service offered to race campaigns extends beyond the shipping of yachts and race support containers. They have direct relationships with key manufacturers in the yachting industry so they can support campaign teams’ requirements for quick supply and delivery of spares to any yacht, anywhere in the world, according to Peters & May.
“Simon and I have developed our company over the last few years and with the support of valued clients gained recognition as one of the key players in the niche, yacht racing market,” commented Angus Bruce Jones, director of Complete Freight, in explaining the decision to support the acquisition. “However, we acknowledged that to further expand our business offering, the support of a company such as Peters & May, who have a strong network of owned offices and appointed agents throughout the world, was critical.”
Rydgren-Knudsen concluded by praising Complete Freight’s commitment to customer service.
“On all levels of operation, it mirrors our own,” he said, “so I look forward to introducing them to our team and our clients and working with them on future projects.”
