New online magazine to focus on used boat market

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – To tap into increasing interest in the pre-owned market, Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatU.S.) has launched a new bi-monthly Internet magazine today, Used Boat Watch, the group reported in a statement today.

Leading the launch is PowerBoat Guide Editor Ed McKnew, who in partnership with the 600,000-member boat owners organization edits the e-publication focusing on late model powerboats. Much like a traditional buyer’s guide with pictures, cabin layouts, and retail high-low values, Used Boat Watch provides BoatU.S. members with side-by-side reviews of popular powerboat models going back to the 1980s, the association reported.

With articles like “Top-Selling Sea Rays Always in Demand,” and “20 Time-Tested Motoryachts from the 1980s,” each issue of Used Boat Watch is designed to appeal to current boat owners, perspective boat buyers, marine industry professionals, and boating enthusiasts everywhere, the association said.

“I know that with Ed’s expertise, Used Boat Watch will be a credible source of information for our members,” said BoatU.S. President Nancy Michelman. “He’s an authority on the subject of used powerboats and his reputation in this industry is well known.”

McKnew continues to publish the annual PowerBoat Guide, now in its 20th year.
