Tallon Marine plans for growth

WANAKA, New Zealand – Tallon Marine, an integrated accessory system manufacturer, has been selected for the New Zealand Trade & Enterprise U.S. Beachheads program, the company said in a press release today.

NZTE is the New Zealand government’s national economic development agency.
Based on a well-established international business network, the Beachheads program provides high-growth potential companies with faster access to top executives who are willing to share contacts, experience and expertise to accelerate growth in key export markets.

Tallon Marine’s U.S. Beachheads mentor is Rick Thomas, founder of Nautical Structures, a high-end yachting equipment manufacturer. Thomas works directly with more than 200 U.S. and international production and custom yacht builders.

“Our relationship with Rick will play a pivotal role in facilitating our efforts to sign on OEMs in the U.S.,” said Duncan Good, Tallon Marine general manager.

Tallon Marine launched its U.S. online retail store in May 2008 and has a Georgia-based warehousing facility to support its distribution growth. In parallel with its OEM strategy, the company is developing a nationwide network of aftermarket retailers using an agent structure or regional distributors.
