RBFF offers boating week ideas

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – National Boating and Fishing Week is set to take place June 1-8 and the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation has a number of tools for dealers and others to use to help get the word out, the organization said in a statement yesterday.

Companies can register National Boating and Fishing Week events on takemefishing.org. RBFF has free event planning materials available online to help with planning. A National Boating and Fishing Week event can increase company traffic, awareness and participation.

RBFF’s suggestions for a successful National Boating and Fishing Week celebration:

  • Promote the national event on company Web sites and in newsletters and stores. Include information about the state’s free fishing days and local events.
  • Make sure members or customers know about the re-vamped takemefishing.org Web site, a resource for boaters and anglers that provides information about planning a trip, buying a fishing license, designing a dream boat and more.
  • Use National Fishing and Boating Week talking points when speaking at an event or talking to the media.
