MBIA offers free safety information kit

LIVONIA, Mich. – The Michigan Boating Industries Association is handing out the 2008 edition of the Michigan Boating Annual Directory and a boating safety information kit free to the public, the organization said in a press release today.

The Michigan Boating Annual Directory is the official handout at the Detroit Boat Show and Spring Boating Expo. The 2008 edition features articles on four boating regions in the state: Anchor Bay, St. Clair Shores’ Nautical Mile, the southwest corner of Michigan, and Northern Michigan’s Chain of Lakes. Additional articles cover financing fundamentals, towing and boat insurance. A special salute to the 50 year anniversary of the Detroit Boat Show is included, as well as a listing and guide to Michigan State Harbors and Harbors of Refuge. The directory also includes a marine product and services guide covering the entire state.

The boating safety information kits include information designed to help boaters operate their vessel responsibly and in accordance with U.S. and Michigan regulations. It also includes information on weather, rip tides, personal watercraft, and boating green.
