WARREN, R.I. – National Marina Day organizers have selected Lazy Days Marina as the site for the kick-off for this year’s National Marina Day Aug. 9, coordinator Association of Marina Industries said in a statement April 24. Lazy Days is located on Lake Lanier in Buford, Ga.
Each year the National Marina Day Committee chair chooses a marina to be the symbol of all the AMI is trying to achieve.
“Lazy Days is a facility that showcases all the things marinas have to offer and that marina operators do,” said Michael Shanley, NMD committee chairman. “I also hope by bringing the event to Lake Lanier that we’ll be able to show how a marina such as Lazy Days can adapt to overcome adversity – such as the one caused by the drought. Lazy Days turned negatives into positives by using the opportunity to improve their marina and plan events for their customers.”
