Shakespeare acquires Communication Aerials

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Two marine antenna manufacturers are under single ownership with Shakespeare Electronic Products Group’s acquisition of U.K.-based Communication Aerials, Shakespeare said in a statement Tuesday. Shakespeare is a business unit of Jarden Applied Materials.

Shakespeare manufactures and markets marine and military antennas, antenna mounts, connectors and related accessories under the Shakespeare, Galaxy, Centennial, SeaWatch, and CruiseNet brands.

Communication Aerials is a U.K. antenna manufacturer based in Westbury, Wiltshire, England serving marine, military and land-based antenna markets. Its product range of Communication Aerials and V-Tronix antennas and accessories has a strong European following for both the sail and power boat market. Shakespeare will retain both the Communication Aerials and the V-Tronix brand names.

“This acquisition affords Shakespeare a formal sales presence in Europe, while allowing us to synergistically expand our product portfolio to better serve our global customers,” said Jim Bennett, president of Jarden Applied Materials.
