Powerboat sales down about 10 percent

MIAMI – The 15-foot plus powerboat market’s unit sales are down roughly 10 percent, year over year, suggested Info-Link, which has updated its Bellwether Report through December.

“The whistle has blown on 2007 and the overall view of the market is disappointing,” said Jesse Wells, director of sales and marketing for Info-Link “A closer look under the data, however, suggests that there are certain areas of the country and certain builders that are bucking the trend if not actually exhibiting growth. Clearly, 2008 poses a good opportunity for competitive benchmarking.”

Info-Link’s December Bellwether Report, which is based on registrations of powerboats 15 feet in length and above, is available for viewing at: www.info-link.com/bellwetherreport.asp.
