ORLANDO– Marine Marketers of America will host its bi-annual General Members Meeting during the Miami International Boat Show Feb. 15 from 2-4 pm in Room A202 of the Miami Convention Center, MMA said in a recent release.
In addition to a social/networking opener mixer, the agenda will include the announcement of several major new initiatives by board members in the areas of pro bono marine marketing projects, professional development plans plus a brand new North American Speakers Bureau and Awards Program.
A highlight of the gathering will be a professional panel discussion entitled, ”Red Hot Marketing Strategies in a Stone Cold Market,” to be moderated by NMMA Vice President of Marketing Carl Blackwell. Presenters and panelists will include marketing experts from both power and sail including leading researchers, plus manufacturers and dealers who have bucked the downward sales trend through enhanced marketing activities. Panel participants are being finalized and will be announced shortly.
“One of our primary missions as an association is to provide ongoing professional development opportunities for our members and the industry at large,” said Wanda Kenton Smith, president. “When asked for potential panel topics for consideration, the overwhelming response was how to help propel sales during the continuing slump that seems to have frozen much of the industry. We decided to heat things up in Miami by sharing a realistic summary of industry statistics, followed by the success stories of a few aggressive marketers who have employed winning strategies and realized sales growth in a year marked by rapid decline. We believe this is a highly relevant topic for all segments of the industry and we invite anyone interested in rekindling their sales to attend.”
The association general meeting and panel presentation is free of charge. Seating is limited, available on a first-come basis; RSVPs are recommended. Contact Patti Velsor at 407 856-6680/email email@example.com to confirm attendance. Visit the www.marinemarketersofamerica.com Web site for updated panelist details and membership information.
