NMRA seeks scholarship partners

GURNEE, Ill. – The National Marine Representative Association plans to provide students studying for careers in the marine industry with scholarships to help finance their futures, the organization said in a press release yesterday. NMRA is seeking maritime universities, schools and institutions interested in participating in the program.

“With these scholarships, we hope to support and encourage students desiring marine professions from naval architects to reps and marina operators,” said Norm MacLeod, NMRA president. “These students are the future of our industry.”

NMRA will award three $1,500 scholarships to exceptional students to begin or continue their education. Their proposed programs of study must be demonstrably relevant to the marine industry or related field. The scholarship will be given directly to the school to cover the students’ tuition and other educational expenses.
