ORLANDO , Fla. – Offshore Magazine will change its name to Northeast Boating Magazine, effective with the October 2007 issue, the magazine’s publishers reported in a release yesterday.
The editorial content of the magazine – with its 26,000 circulation focused on general interest issues of relevance to Northeastern boaters – will remain the same. The new title more aptly captures the essence and scope of the publication, Tom Richardson, the magazine’s editor said.
“Northeast Boating addresses all boaters and all types of waters, from lakes and rivers to harbors, sounds and open ocean,” he said. “The Offshore title, on the other hand, seemed to communicate coverage of bluewater areas exclusively. We discovered that many prospective readers believed the magazine only featured fishing or ocean voyaging editorial. The new title is more encompassing and enticing to boating enthusiasts in the region, especially in New England.”
