Boating Industry Intelligence You Can Profit From
HARTFORD, Conn. – Boat and yacht insurer Travelers has established a team to handle boat and yacht claims during catastrophic events, the company said in a release yesterday.
The boat and yacht catastrophe team (CAT) is comprised of CAT coordinators, marine surveyors and claims operations personnel, who are immediately dispatched to handle boat and yacht claims that occur as a result of a catastrophe.
Travelers said it established the team to proactively manage catastrophic events before they take place and respond quickly due to careful pre-planning and strategic relationships that have been established with towing companies, storage facilities and salvage yards across the country.
“Travelers’ dedicated boat and yacht catastrophe response team adds to the depth of expertise within our company and helps to streamline our claims process during catastrophic events,” said Chantal Cyr, vice president of Travelers Boat and Yacht. “Leveraging our systems and resources to quickly respond to customers is one way we stay in-synch with our customers when they need us most.”
