SARASOTA, Fla. – Powerboat manufacturer Donzi Marine’s high performance boats will be featured in an upcoming episode of the CBS television series “CSI: Miami,” Donzi said in a statement Wednesday.
Four Donzi 38-foot ZR models were recently shipped to Miami-area Donzi dealer, Grove Harbour Marina to be filmed for the show. A silver, black and red model featured prominently in the episode can be seen on promos now airing on CBS and streaming on the network’s Web site.
With nearly 20 million viewers per episode, “CSI: Miami” is one of the most popular television shows in North America. Additionally, it is exported to more than a dozen foreign countries and runs in syndication on A&E Network.
This is Donzi’s second appearance on a CBS prime-time network program this year. In February, Donzi landed six 35-foot and 38-foot ZR models in the four-time Emmy Award-winning CBS reality-based television series, “Amazing Race.” Donzi was featured in the opening episode of the show’s eleventh season, and received additional exposure thanks to CBS’ broadcast promos that ran up to and during Super Bowl Sunday.
“Product placement is a large part of our branding strategy,” said Josh Stickles, Donzi’s vice president of marketing and architect of both the “Amazing Race” and “CSI: Miami” ventures. “We’re always looking to build on our brand awareness, and opportunities like these allow us to reach deep into the mainstream to target an enormous audience.”
Other recent Donzi product placement efforts include coverage on an episode of the Discovery Channel television show, “Mythbusters,” which is currently airing; the upcoming Sony Pictures film “Missionary Man,” which is due out this fall; and last summer’s Universal Pictures film, “Miami Vice.”
The “CSI: Miami” episode featuring Donzi, titled “Kill Switch,” is scheduled to air at 10 p.m. Monday on CBS.
