Boksa Marine Design, Inc. expands
LITHIA, Fla. – Boksa Marine Design has moved into a new office in Lithia, Fla., the company said in a press release yesterday.
From its new location, the company will be able to provide full service naval architecture and marine engineering full time.
With a design portfolio encompassing deck and hull components to entire yachts, Boksa’s projects range from 23-foot sportfishing boats to 140-foot yachts. The firm has technical engineering expertise, including hydrostatic and hydrodynamics prediction data, noise level studies, and dry dock and fleet review surveys.
First, as an engineering cadet and then as an engineer officer in the U.S. Merchant Marine fleet, company founder Nick Boksa’s sea time includes operating and maintaining one steam-powered and three diesel-powered container ships, as well as various yachts. In addition to the theoretical engineering studies he obtained through his bachelor’s degree studies in marine engineering systems at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Boksa earned his masters in naval architecture and marine engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
He has served as an in-house naval architect and engineering manager for commercial shipping and recreational boat-building firms, and Boksa’s 3D modeling experience extends from interior joinery packages to hull jig and propeller tunnel design. He is also a licensed professional engineer.
