Marina conference to discuss dry stack material

TAMPA, Fla. – In response to the tremendous interest in the sold-out National Dry Stack Conference held the week of Oct. 23, the Association of Marina Industries and the American Boat Builders and Repairers Association have decided to add a panel discussion to their owned and operated International Marina & Boatyard Conference, scheduled for Jan. 28–31, 2007 in Tampa, the two organizations said in a statement Wednesday.

The IMBC’s seminar schedule already includes such topics as the mysteries of contract legality, worst profit ideas and how to avoid them, sensible approaches to rising healthcare costs, and suggestions for boatyard and marina refits.

“After reviewing the numbers for the dry stack conference, it makes sense for us to add some of that material to our show,” said Julie Vanier, IMBC coordinator. “We were actively engaged in the dry stack seminar program and plan to choose the most interesting topics and speakers to create a pertinent and relevant panel discussion at IMBC.”

The National Dry Stack Conference discussions included the latest in building and equipment-hauling techniques, risk management, and OSHA standards for marina forklift operators and industry.
