NMEA hands out marine electronics awards

NAPLES, Fla. – The National Marine Electronics Association has named this year’s recipients of the industry awards, previously called product awards, which were distributed at NMEA’s Annual Convention and Exposition Oct. 18 to 21 at the Naples Grande Resort & Club.

The NMEA industry awards recognize excellence in design, performance and reliability in marine electronics products. The awards are selected by votes from marine electronics dealers, distributors and other industry professionals. According to the rules, each active, non-manufacturer member of the NMEA and each NMEA-certified marine electronics technician is allowed to cast one vote.

The NMEA 2006 Industry Award Winners are:

  • Communications – ICOM America M504
  • Entertainment – KVH Tracvision M3
  • Fish Finding – Furuno FCV585
  • Marine Specialty – First Place: Navionics Platinum Electronic Charts
    Second Place: Simrad WR20 Remote Commander
  • Navigation – Raymarine E120 w/Platinum Cartography & RS125
  • Radar – Furuno Navnet VX2 18/19×4 Series
  • Best of Show – Raymarine – RayTech 6.0
  • Manufacturer of the Year, Support – Furuno
