Davis Surveying grows through acquisition

LISLE, Ill. – Nationwide marine survey and engineering firm Davis & Company, Ltd. has acquired the American-Pacific Group, a marine surveying firm based in Pine Grove, Calif., the company reported in a statement yesterday.

Staff surveyor John DeMeter will be joining Davis there, bringing its number of California-based surveyors to four. James Neville, who had served as president of AmPac Ltd., is moving to AIG Global Marine as assistant vice president and West Coast Marine Loss Control engineering manager.

“American-Pacific Group’s personnel and client base is strong in recreational and commercial hull and cargo loss inspections, which is a natural fit for us,” said Greg Davis, president. “Our other offices are positioned strategically to serve the AmPac Ltd. marine customers with their projects across North America. This latest expansion supports our goal to offer consistency in prompt inspection and report format, which makes our client’s personnel more productive and improves overall customer satisfaction.”
With the acquisition, Davis has 56 offices and 100 personnel providing service across the U.S. and Canada. It is the 8th expansion for Lisle, IL-based firm in the past 4 years, the company reported.
