AOC to raise prices near end of month

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – AOC, a global supplier of resins, gelcoats and other additives to the marine industry, will increase prices by US $0.05 per pound on all products sold in North America shipped after July 21, the company reported earlier this week.

AOC said it continues to strive for competitive and stable unsaturated polyester resin pricing, but energy prices continue to be volatile, ever increasing and driving feedstock and operational costs higher.

The company cited price increases in crude oil, benzene and styrene. It also said a spill in the Gulf of Mexico prevented traffic to some of the rigs, effectively reducing supply.

“AOC thanks its customers for your continued support and business in these unprecedented times,” the company said in its release. “AOC continues to invest for the long-term growth and health of the composites industry by providing innovation and capacity to meet growing demand. The company remains committed to offering customers the best overall value in the market place.”
