Marine insurance company adds new division

MAHWAH, N.J. – Capacity Marine Corp. has formed a Capacity Marine Safety and Loss Control division, which will work independently as a loss control and safety program design, management, and survey report provider to insurance carriers, insurance brokers, and marine clients, the company reported in a recent statement.

Captain Thomas Bolcar, who will lead the division, comes to Capacity Marine with over 30 years of experience in terminal operations, vessel operation, trucking, warehouse, and the workers compensation fields. He is a graduate of SUNY Maritime and has held various managerial positions within the marine transport industry.

The Safety and Loss Control Division will provide: A-Z OSHA, DOL, & DOT Approved Safety Program Creation or Review, Periodic Industrial, Construction, Transportation, USL&H, and Marine Safety Surveys for risks and carriers, Detailed Prospect Surveys, Self-Insured Company Safety Audits, General Liability and Third Party facility accident reduction inspections, Damaged Freight, Spilled Hazardous Materials, Vehicle/Vessel Recovery Oversight, and many other related services.

All members of the division hold the 30 hour OSHA Construction Certification making them available to perform safety checks on all types of construction, not just marine construction.

Captain Bolcar is also available to consult on a wide range of marine terminal operations, superintendent training, container operations, specialized cargo handling, productivity with safety, specialized lifting gear, machinery selection, and equipment maintenance.

Capacity Marine Corp. provides marine insurance and safety and loss control services to a variety of marine clients, from complete port operations to single vessel owners and marinas.
